A little bit about me…
Heather McKeithen-Owner/Founder
LMBT # 22808; Shamanic Practitioner; Reiki Master; 500hr Yoga Teacher; NPMDT
Hi, I’m Heather, the heart and hands behind Indigo Massage & Bodywork. Raised in an active military family, I’ve walked through my share of life’s harder seasons. After years of navigating loss, chronic stress, and emotional pain, I reached a turning point where traditional approaches just weren’t enough. That search for deeper healing led me to massage, shamanic healing, Reiki, and yoga—practices that helped me return to my body, remember my spirit, and rebuild from the inside out.
I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Therapeutic Massage program at Sandhills Community College and I couldn’t be more excited to integrate this training into my work. Adding massage therapy allows me to bridge the physical and the energetic—combining hands-on techniques with subtle, spirit-centered modalities to support clients in a fuller, more embodied way.
I’m a Reiki Master and a graduate of a shamanic healing apprenticeship with Mara Bishop, who trained under Sandra Ingerman and Michael Harner. My yoga journey includes a 500-hour teacher training with both Hot Asana University and Yoga Garden of Apex, along with trauma-informed certification through Warriors At Ease to support veterans and first responders. I’ve also earned certifications in Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga.
Since opening Indigo Healing Arts in historic downtown Aberdeen, NC in 2019, I’ve held a vision of healing that goes beyond surface-level relief. Whether you're carrying stress in your muscles or in your soul (or both), I create sessions that meet you where you are—supporting you in reconnecting with your body, tuning into your inner wisdom, and remembering the wholeness that’s already within you.
