What is Shamanism?

Shamanism is the oldest sprititual practice known to mankind. Evidence shows that it may have been around for as long as 40,000 years with its origin in Siberia. The word shaman means “one who sees in the dark” or “one who sees with the heart”. It is practiced by many cultures throughout the world and has recently experienced a re-birth in Western culture. Micheal Harner was an anthropologist credited with this rebirth through his studies of Core Shamanism. He discovered that many indigenous cultures who practiced Shamanism had certain techniques that were almost identical without ever having communicated due to time and distance (for an example: the Tungus people of Siberia 20,000 years ago were practicing similar methods to Aboriginal people of Australia, Native North Americans and Native Central American cultures without having the means to communicate or to travel large distances to share this information). The manner behind this “exchange” of information is through a direct connection to Spirit and to Nature. Each indigenous tribe would have at least one Shaman who members would go to in time of need of healing, whether that healing be of mind, body, spirit, or land. The Shaman would enter in to an altered state of consciousness to connect to Spirit and retrieve healing information.

What does a Shamanic Practitioner do?

A Shamanic Practitioner is a modern day practitioner of Shamanism. It is someone who offers healing to people, places, plants and animals in need while being respectful of ancient cultural traditions and wisdoms of origin.

He or she uses methods to enter into an altered state of consciousness (think: deep meditation) where information is gathered pertaining to the person, place, animal or plant in need of healing.

What can a Shamanic Practitioner do?

  • Soul Retrieval-when we experience trauma, our soul “steps aside” (NEVER fully leaving us!) while the experience is taking place to help dampen the impact. This is why many people claim to not remember these specific events! When the event is over the soul will decide when it feels safe enough to reintegrate to our physical body. This may take moments, days or even weeks to occur. Often times, little fractions of our essence are left behind in the invisible realm. This leads us to feel like we are “missing” something within ourselves. We don’t have the same personalities or zest for life. Perhaps we engage in reckless activity or addictions to numb this new feeling sadness and despair. During a Soul Retrieval the Shamanic Practitioner, with the help of a very trusted Spirit Guide, will enter in to a state of altered consciousness to seek out any of these held-back morsels of Soul that are ready and willing to “come home”. When offered in a place of willingness to accept and act upon change from the client, one can begin to rebuild themselves from deep inside, eventually coming to a place of peace, inspiration and love for life.

  • Energetic extractions-just as a car traveling down the highway collects “gunk” on it from the road our energetic body also collects things that does not belong to it as we walk through life. Energetic extractions are a very non-invasive way of removing this build-up from our system.

  • Power Animal retrieval-Find out who your true “Spirit Animal” is! We don’t choose them, they choose us!

  • Psychopomp work (home/land clearing)-This is the very beautiful practice of helping discarnate spirits cross into the light.

  • Intuitive guidance

  • Ceremony

  • This is just the short list! Every session is different and can bring up new modalities of receiving healing information.

What happens during a session?

Every session is a different experience. This is a very non-invasive form of healing that is suitable for anyone who has an open heart and a willingness for positive change. You will spend one-on-one time conversing with your practitioner and connecting with guidance. You will spend the rest of the time fully clothed on a massage table while healing modalities are offered. During your time on the table, you may receive light hand touch around the body, you may be drummed over with a buffalo drum, you may feel “currents” of soothing energy as blockages are released and healing light is implemented, you may even experience a moment of lucid dreaming…either way you will most likely leave in a more relaxed and uplifted state than when you came.

Pricing

90-Minutes: $100 (clients are asked to schedule a 90 minute session for their first visit.)

60-Minutes: $75
